It´s not only the huge and glittering fashion world that changes all the time, interior design (wikipedia)and furnishing actually works exactly the same way. What´s new in spring and further in 2012, what´s hot and what´s not?

Flowers or fruits?

For all of us who were lucky enough to have grandparents and were used to make frequent visits at their homes, floral patterns have always and clearly belonged in past eras. Cushions, covers and curtains that came in floral designs (wikipedia) just didn´t seem to match our contemporary taste in modern design.

In the beginning of 2012 we´ll have to reconsider this opinion at the latest since, just like in fashion in 2011 already, floral patterns are back and come along with a fresh, young and vivid look that helps us get rid of the last remains of a potential winter blues. Floral patterns match well with the New Romantics trend and decorate both iron beds or antiques aswell as modern sofas and comfortable chaise longues.

If you´re not a flowers-person you might fancy those new fabrics that come in fresh fruit designs. Cherries and lemons, strawberries or apples, anything we love to eat in spring and summer now beautyfies covers and cushions, beddings and table cloths. Changing alterable home accessories such as towels, carpets, blankets, bed- and table cloths, covers and curtains is generally a quick, yet very efficient way to give your home a fresh new look, a general makeover.

Classics remain

Considering getting new furniture?
Maybe you should stick to the classics then, just like before anything wooden and clean shapes remain fashionable and seem to survive all the trends and fads. Lounge and club furniture come to the fore once more so picking the best and right piece from an enormous sofa collection is quite a tough job.

If you´re either up for a complete makeover or you´re looking for single pieces of innovative furniture, the choice is yours!
